ABOUT T.I.M.E. INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL 



Climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability are the most pressing global issues. A growing number of public and private players from several industries, including the textile industry, have created intersectional strategies to generate environmentally sustainable solutions.

Accordingly, the International Summer School TCST has been organized by the Consortium of four T.I.M.E member universities, namely Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Türkiye; Technische Universität München (TUM), Germany; Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), China; and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece

  • to exchange knowledge on the sustainable use of innovative materials and technologies that contribute to intelligent solutions for a clean environment, sustainability, and digitalization,
  • to establish a collaborative mindset and knowledge transfer to the industry through case studies presented by invited industry contributors.

Closing-up session of the Summer School

The “International Summer School on Transdisciplinary Collaboration of Sustainable Technologies (TCST)”, funded by Top International Managers in Engineering (T.I.M.E.) Association, successfully took place online between 28.08.2023-08.09.2023.

The International Summer School was organized by the Consortium of four T.I.M.E member universities, namely Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Türkiye; Technische Universität München (TUM), Germany; Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), China; and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece.

During the summer school, the focus was on the sustainable use of innovative materials and technologies that contribute to intelligent solutions for a clean environment, sustainability, and digitalization. The Project partners conveyed their collaborative teaching and research experience into the transdisciplinary courses.  35 students, industrial partners, young researchers and engineers from various parts of the world did have the opportunity to participate in a series of lectures, covering the following topics:

  1. Sustainable Textile Materials & Technologies and Digitalization in Textiles
  2. Multiphysics modelling of sustainable materials and components
  3. Circular Economy and Sustainability
  4. 2-dimensional materials for sustainable electronic and optoelectronic devices applications

Immediately after the closing-up session of the Summer School in which all of the partners as well as the General Secretary of T.I.M.E. Association were present, the participants were awarded with the certificates of attendance.
